Fundraising Events
Throughout the year, Crisis Nursery hosts several events that play a vital role in supporting our mission. Nearly 20% of our annual budget comes from these events and third-party fundraisers. Whether you'd like to participate in an event or volunteer, there are many ways to get involved! Find more details about each of our events below.
Touch-A-Truck presented by Duce Construction
This event is FREE for the public to attend. Explore emergency vehicles, construction equipment, and more on Saturday, August 22, 2026 from 9am-1pm in the Carle at the Fields North Parking Lot (3310 Fields S Dr, Champaign, IL 61822).

Golf Outing in memory of Zach McNabney
Zach McNabney, a successful businessman, golfer, and coach, was a true friend and loyal advocate of Crisis Nursery. His infectious smile and hearty laugh always accompanied him on the golf course. We will never forget his leadership and determination.
Join us on Thursday, September 17, 2026 at 9:30am at the Atkins Golf Club at the University of Illinois (2560 S Stone Creek Blvd, Urbana, IL 61802) to honor Zach's memory. Visit our event site for registration and sponsorship information.
Children's Holiday Shop
Crisis Nursery's Holiday Shop is the perfect place for children to do their holiday shopping for everyone on their list. All gifts are priced between $1 and $15. Children shop with the help of a community volunteer so their gifts are a surprise for family and friends. When the children are done picking out their gifts, they pay for them and wrap them in shiny festive bags. As they leave the shop, children are always full of pride with the items they have picked out on their own and an understanding that it is just as great to give as it is to receive.
This event is taking place at The Orpheum Champaign (346 N Neil St, Champaign, IL 61820), formerly the Orpheum Children's Museum, from Thursday, December 3 - Saturday, December 5, 2026. The shop is open on Thursday and Friday from 3pm-7pm and on Saturday from 9am-4pm. It is free to enter - work with your little shopper to come up with a budget!

Art Mart Wine Tasting
The Art Mart Wine Tasting to benefit Crisis Nursery is a relaxed, social evening that brings together community members in support of children and families in crisis.
Join us for an evening of wine, appetizers, and live music at Carmon's (804 N Neil St, Champaign, IL 61820) on Thursday, April 1, 2027from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend | Miles for Smiles
Crisis Nursery is exceptionally grateful to be a Charity Running Partner for the 2027 Christie Clinic Illinois Race Weekend. As a Charity Running Partner, we receive additional recognition from Race Weekend and the opportunity for runners to fundRACE on our behalf in support of our Safe Children Program.
Race Weekend is taking place Thursday, April 22 - Saturday, April 24, 2027. There are many events to participate in, both as a runner and as a volunteer. You can join an existing team, like our "Miles for Smiles" team, or you can create a new team and encourage your family & friends to donate to your fundRACING efforts!
Blue Tie Gala presented by the Tinervin Family Foundation
The Blue Tie Gala presented by the Tinervin Family Foundation is an evening to support children and strengthen families in crisis. Join us at the Illinois Conference Center (111 St Marys Rd, Champaign, IL 61820) on Friday, June 4, 2027 at 5:30pm to enjoy a cocktail hour & dinner, program highlights, and auction — all in support of the Nursery’s mission.
The Tinervin Family Foundation is dedicated to positively impacting underserved families in our community by supporting programming opportunities and increasing access to resources through intentional partnerships focused on improving quality of life.

Play Groups & Support Groups
Crisis Nursery's Family Specialists have multiple Play Groups and Support Groups throughout the year. Most often, these fall under our Beyond Blue or Paving Pathways program.
