Our Mission
The work we do to support children and families in crisis would not be possible without the generosity and collaboration of our incredible partners. Through diversified funding from individuals, businesses, foundations, community organizations, and government support, we can sustain and grow our programs to meet the urgent needs of those we serve. This collective commitment ensures we provide essential services, from emergency child care to family stability programs, helping prevent child abuse and neglect in our community. Local Grant Partners
United Way of Champaign County supports the Nursery through two multi-year Community Change Grants including Child Well-Being and Early Grade Level Success.
CCMHB supports our Beyond Blue program at the Nursery. This funding allows us to serve mothers who have or are at risk of developing perinatal depression. This program addresses risk factors that otherwise may lead to serious emotional disturbances and multiagency/system involvement in children.
Crisis Nursery receives Consolidated Social Service Funding from Cunningham Township to support our Safe Children program.
federal & state Grant Partners
DCFS provides funding to the Nursery from both a federal and state level. These funds support our Safe Children program, allowing us to continue to provide 24-hour care to children and families experiencing crisis.
Crisis Nursery receives funding from DHS for our Safe Children and Strong Families programs. We also receive funding through DHS-ESG funds, allowing us to develop our homeless respite program and serve homeless families through our Strong Families program with access to support groups, crisis counseling, and more.
ISBE provides funding for our early childhood and family education programs and services that fall under the Preschool for All: Prevention Initiative, a network of child and family service providers who promote the development of infants and children at risk of academic failure. The support provided by ISBE helps young children enter school, ready to learn. At Crisis Nursery, much of this falls under our Paving Pathways program.
